Stroke and
Neuro-Physiotherapy
The experienced Neuro-Physiotherapy team at the Stroke Unit is highly skilled in the management and rehabilitation of neurological conditions. Our team understands that patients who have suffered a stroke require ongoing treatment to maintain improvement in the patient’s ability.

Joints & Mobility
Joint pain is a very common problem with many possible causes. In older people, joint pain that gets steadily worse is usually a sign of osteoarthritis. It may affect just one joint, or many. The knee joint is probably the most frequently damaged joint and is particularly vulnerable as it takes the full weight of your body.

Multiple
Sclerosis
Multiple sclerosis (MS) is different for everyone and you can get symptoms in many parts of your body.MS is a neurological condition.
That means it affects your nerves. It's caused when your immune system isn’t working properly.

Balance Problems
Balance problems cause dizziness and make you feel as though you’re spinning or moving when you’re actually standing or sitting still. As a result, you may not feel well, and this may interfere with your daily life. Balance issues can lead to falls, which can cause broken bones and other injuries.

Parkinsonism
A progressive neurodegenerative disorder that develops over many years, leading to impairments of movement and deficits in mental functioning. The most widely seen malady of the nervous system – usually occurs in the elderly – is caused by the degeneration of neurons that produce dopamine in the midbrain.

Post Op Rehabilitation
Rehabilitation is the post-surgical program of re-establishing joint motion, muscle strength around the joint and finally joint function. It is very important to understand that rehabilitation is a long process. While the surgery is performed within hours, the rehabilitation needs many months, potentially up to a year.

Spinal Cord Injury
A spinal cord injury (SCI) is damage to the spinal cord that causes changes in its function, either temporary or permanent.
These changes translate into loss of muscle function, sensation, or autonomic function in parts of the body served by the spinal cord below the level of the lesion.
